Principal's & Director's Desk

Welcome, Our Dear Visitors

 PRINCIPAL'S Desk

Greetings!

D. Banumaiah’s College of Commerce & Arts has the unique distinction of being the first-ever Commerce College in the private sector in the Old Mysore State of pre-unification. DBCCA has played a pivotal role in the field of education, especially Commerce education. Established in 1949 under the aegis of Dharmaprakasha D. Banumaiah’s Educational Institution – which celebrated its centenary recently - the College has completed 70 years of its fruitful existence. We attempt to nurture students with adequate emphasis on all the three aspects of integrated education – intellectual, physical and value education. DBCCA also enjoys the reputation of encouraging the students belonging to the less privileged sections of the society. A vast number of our alumni, spread over the globe, are our excellent ambassadors. We believe that all the stakeholders are equally important but the most significant stakeholder and the strength of our College is the students.

I convey my good wishes to all those who are aspiring to get admitted to our prestigious institution.

After having established D.Banumaiah’s College of Commerce in 1949, another feather in the cap of D.Banumaiah’s Education Institution (DBEI) was the establishment of Post-Graduate Course in Commerce, which is affiliated to the University of Mysore and located in Mothikana Buildings adjacent to the main Degree College in 2014-15. The opening of the building to run the M.Com Degree course was formally inaugurated by Sri. Siddaramaiah, Former Chief Minister of Government of Karnataka in the presence of Sri. V. Srinivasa Prasad, former Revenue and Mysuru District-in-Charge Minister; and Sri. T.B. Jayachandra, Former Minister of Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Animal Husbandry on 5th November 2014. The Post-Graduate Course in Commerce thankfully acknowledges the efforts made by Dr. V.B.Jayadeva, President; Sri. S.J.Lakshme Gowda Vice-President; Prof. P.V. Narahari, Honorary Secretary; Dr. N.Thimmaih, Administrative Officer and other Trustees of DBEI. The relentless efforts of the Trustees of DBEI are highly acknowledged. Since the inception of the Course in 2014-15, 246 students have passed out as post-graduates in Commerce with high level of progression in academic performance. It is also gratifying to place on record the unique achievement of our students with the able guidance of all the teachers in presenting 13 research papers presented in the National Seminar on “Service Quality in India” organized jointly by the DBCC & A PG Block in Commerce, Mysuru held on 23rd March 2019. The credit for these efforts on our part would not have been achieved but for the unstinted support received from D.Banumaiah’s Education Institution (DBEI) for which we are highly indebted.
